Fashion is one of the biggest industries in the United States. The upcoming year is no exception. Many people are wondering what the newest fashion trends are for 2009 and 2010. Fashion week in New York gave us a great idea of the upcoming trends. Here is a look at some of the most wearable trends of the seasons.

Zippers As Adding Zap!

It used to be pretty common to see lots of zippers on punk rockers, but now zippers are absolutely everywhere and on everything-and everyone! From dresses and skirts to bags and boots-and even t-shirts-lots of zippers are cool and trendy. And no, they’re not all functional. Many are simply a fashionable embellishment!

The Relaxed Fit Is Trendy

Relaxed fit pants are definitely in this year, so save the skinny jeans for another time. Loose fitting comfortable jeans and trousers are great with casual tops or even dressier attire for evenings out. And who wants to argue with comfort?

Bring on the Silk

Silky, satiny fabrics are making a sensation this season. Dresses, skirts, blouses, and even loose elegant tank tops took center stage in New York at fashion week. In addition to adding texture and style, these fluid fabrics add a touch of elegance to any outfit. Even a pair of jeans is dressy with a silky tank top and simple accessories.

Pink

Pink is defiantly the color for 09. The good news is that is a shad of pink for just about everyone. Women with olive complexions and dark hair look great in hot pink and magenta tones. Girls with lighter skin tones should stick with more pastel colors. This is a great time to show off your girly side and add some pink to your wardrobe.

Bulky Beads

Big chunky bulky beads are back in style. And they’re the perfect way to modernize a shirt from last season or to add some pizzazz to an otherwise “blah” top. Buy a bunch of different chunky beaded necklaces in various colors and sizes to perk up your wardrobe instantly.

Huge Bags

The bigger the bag, the better. That seems to be the motto for this year! Women everywhere are sporting big beautiful bags that can fit just about everything but the kitchen sink. They’re stylish and very convenient-and they come in a huge variety of colors, patterns, styles, and designs!

Neon Baby!

Remember the neon colors from the 1980’s? Florescent orange, hot pink, vibrant lime green, and neon yellow are back-and they are very hot right now. Buy tops in these hot neon colors and throw them on with casual comfy jeans and you’re ready to head out for the day and turn heads, too.

Pastel Pantsuits

Pantsuits are making a comeback in pretty pastels for the spring of 2010. Stylish and slenderizing, the always-classic black pantsuit will be joined by trendy shades of pink, yellow, blue, peach, green, and lavender to lighten things up for the spring season. This is one of the season’s must haves.

Bold Colors

Bold layered colors are a hit this season as well. Are you ready to give your prints a rest? Try some bright red and blue chunky patterns. Layering these bright colors works great. This trend looks great with jeans or relaxed pants.
